NZSSD is a society for dental practitioners who practise sedation dentistry, including IV sedation dentistry, for the benefit of their patients.
The society is represented by a group of dental practitioners who work on a voluntary basis. Our role is to represent dental practitioners who practise sedation dentistry, including IV sedation dentistry, in their practices. Our mission is to provide training in, and ensure the future of sedation in dentistry.
We are affiliated with the New Zealand Dental Association and also liaise with the New Zealand Dental Council with regard to practice guidelines.
We also run courses for dental practitioners to learn how to carry out IV sedation dentistry. Plus advanced update courses for those already using IV sedation.
